Upcoming Webinar: Investigating and Repairing Common Issues in Wood-Framed Buildings

Wood-framed structures are extremely common across the United States. Their affordability, design flexibility, and ease of construction makes them a popular choice for many building types, especially in residential and light commercial construction. However, improper construction, inadequate design, or poor maintenance practices can lead to issues, including framing distress or decay.

In this complimentary one-hour webinar, engineers Lorintz GleichSteve Mayhew, and Paul Parfitt will explore several of the most common issues with wood-framed construction and discuss how they are investigated and addressed.

By the end of the webinar, you will be able to:

  • Recognize common issues specific to wood-framed residential and commercial buildings
  • Compare how typical wood material properties differ from other types of construction and how those differences relate to common issues
  • Explore how design- or construction-related deficiencies relate to common issues
  • Identify how maintenance practices can mitigate common issues

There will be plenty of time for your questions during the presentation. Attendees are eligible for one American Institute of Architects (AIA) HSW Learning Unit.
