Chandhuri Joins Geotechnical Engineering Practice

We are pleased to announce that Kal Chandhuri has joined WJE as an associate principal in our geotechnical and geological engineering practice. Mr. Chandhuri has more than nineteen years of experience in geotechnical engineering design and consulting and construction management experience on a variety of projects in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. He will focus on the Midwest region, working from our Northbrook, Illinois, headquarters. 

Mr. Chandhuri’s project experience spans multiple sectors, including residential, mid- to high-rise commercial, industrial, renewable energy and power, healthcare infrastructure, and heavy transportation. His work involves design and investigation of distressed foundations, substructures, earth retention systems, embankments, pavements, and various other construction aspects of the projects.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Chandhuri was Geotechnical Department Manager at ECS Midwest LLC, managing a majority of the midwestern region’s geotechnical and associated construction design and consulting assignments. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers - Geo-Institute and Deep Foundation Institute.
