Upcoming Webinar: Building Enclosure Commissioning - Improving Performance and Managing Risk

As building enclosure systems become more complex and have less room for error, and as building codes or high performance standards or certificates become more stringent, the need for technical expertise and quality oversight has become increasingly critical to providing enclosures that function as owners, designers, and builders intend.

Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) is a process that can be implemented to ensure or improve performance and manage risk. BECx can add value, save energy, and mitigate long-term performance issues related to the building enclosure and associated systems reliant upon its successful performance to function.

In this one hour webinar, WJE BECx experts Fiona Aldous and Elizabeth Cassin discuss the BECx process and related benefits; tasks included in the process, including critical items that should be considered during those tasks; responsibilities of project team members; key BECx documents; and the presenters’ recommendations for how to successfully implement the BECx process based upon their collective experiences.

By the end of the presentation, you will be able to:

  • Define the goals and processes of BECx
  • Identify requirements for a successful BECx process
  • Describe how BECx can improve performance and mitigate risk
  • Recognize key documents in the BECx process

There will be plenty of time for your questions during the presentation. You are also eligible for one American Institute of Architects (AIA) Learning Unit for your participation.
