First Congregational Church of Dubuque Earns Preservation Award

Our restoration work at the First Congregational Church of Dubuque in Iowa received a 2025 Dubuque Historic Preservation Award as part of Dubuque Architecture Days.

We conducted a structural assessment of a weakened masonry arch within the north masonry wall and designed shoring and reinforcement for its stabilization and repair. In addition, we developed reinforcing details to address deficiencies within the archaic timber floor structure and provided repairs and post-tensioning monitoring to address deficiencies within the strapped-scissor/hammerbeam trusses.
