Logan Mills

Experience

Since joining WJE in 2023, Logan Mills has been involved in the investigation, evaluation, design, and rehabilitation of various structures. His project experience is focused on bridges and civil infrastructure, including concrete, steel, wooden, and masonry structures.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Mills worked as a structural design engineer for a private consulting firm specializing in civil infrastructure. This included the design of bridges, retaining structures, storm/wastewater infrastructure, and crane runways.

• Tillery Street Bridge - Austin, TX: Nonredundant steel tension member and structural assessment of nonredundant steel tension bent caps
• Manufacturing Plant Building - Central TX: Structural investigation and analysis for precast concrete elements
• Regional Transportation District Rail Platform - Denver, CO: Investigation of distressed platform concrete elements, including instrumentation and structural analysis of concrete members
   

Bridge/Construction Engineering

• I-35 and 290 Interchange - Austin, TX: Lifting plan and lateral restraint design for prestressed concrete U-beams and steel tub girders
• Dallas North Tollway at Northaven - Dallas, TX: Support and sequencing design for removal and replacement of damaged steel girders requiring strongback and shoring design
• SH99 Roadway Improvements - Spring, TX: Contractor support including bridge concrete repair design and analysis for misaligned bridge drilled shafts
• Bent Cap Formwork Design - Various Locations: Design of concrete bent cap formwork and work platforms

Steel Design/Analysis

• Processing Plant Cooler Piping Support Frame - Antwerp, Belgium: Design of frame to support modified cooling pipe assembly within existing petrochemical facility
• VPS2 Pipe Rack - Port Arthur, TX: Structural failure analysis of existing steel pipe racks at petrochemical facility for critical wind speeds
• Applied Materials Crane Runways - Austin, TX: Structural analysis of existing building steel framing and foundation elements to support runways for increased crane capacity *
• Heroes Memorial Park - Kyle, TX: Design of 200-foot-long curved pedestrian bridge with variable radii *
   

Retaining Structures

• Railroad Culvert Temporary Shoring - Hutto, TX: Custom design of steel soldier pile wall allowing for culvert construction without interruption to railroad operations
• CR 1070 Detour Temporary Shoring - Comal, TX: Design of temporary steel retaining structure for detour roadway during bridge replacement
• Sun Chase - Del Valle, TX: Site gravity rock retaining walls and mechanically stabilized earth walls within planned community *
• C-Bar Ranch Water Quality Ponds - Cedar Park, TX: Concrete cantilever earth and pond retaining walls, including splitter box design*
   

Rigging and Lifting Design
