Experience

Since joining WJE in 2017, Richard Pearson has been involved in a wide range of building enclosure assessment, consulting, and repair design projects. He has experience with various types of structures, including hospital and healthcare facilities, commercial, and multifamily residential. Mr. Pearson has been involved in the investigation, repair design, and preparation of repair documents for brick and stone masonry, assorted cladding systems, and various fenestrations including curtain wall and storefront glazing systems.

Mr. Pearson has provided services during the mock-up repair phase and full-scale repair implementation on existing structures and new construction projects. His construction phase activities include quality assurance observation, construction document review, troubleshooting installation deficiencies, field testing, and developing repair recommendations.

Facade Assessment

  • Archdiocese of Chicago - IL: Visual and close-up observations of multiple churches and parish campus buildings; assessment of exterior wall systems, mass masonry, fenestration, roofing, structural framing systems, and bell towers
  • Advocate Condell Medical Center - Libertyville, IL: Facade assessment, limited investigations, and repair document development of multiple campus buildings

 

Repair and Rehabilitation

  • Bon Secours St. Francis Downtown Medical Center - Greenville, SC: Facade assessment and partial reclad of twelve-story hospital; construction documents and construction phase services including on-site observation and quality control observations
  • Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital - Barrington, IL: Air/water leakage and condensation investigation; roof, parapet, and facade repair design; construction observation services
