Experience

With more than twenty years in the building design and construction industries, Richard Furst has broad experience with building enclosure systems design for both new construction and rehabilitation of existing buildings. He has provided design and peer review consulting services for new projects, and has led the investigation, design, and construction administration and observation of hundreds of millions of dollars of repair and rehabilitation projects. Mr. Furst routinely performs or oversees design services, develops construction documents, and performs field observation of work, architectural testing and nondestructive evaluation on roofing systems, various waterproofing systems, and window and curtain wall systems. While his prior experience spans many different building types, Mr. Furst has developed specialized expertise in rehabilitation of occupied high-rise buildings.

Prior to joining WJE in 2018, Mr. Furst was the lead architect for construction contract administration on a $200 million luxury high-rise hotel project in Waikiki, Hawaii.
