Jean Jang

Associate III


Jean Jang has extensive experience with materials conservation and historic preservation. Her work includes building documentation, materials analysis, preservation recommendations, and construction observations. Ms. Jang has completed projects with a variety of materials, including slate, sandstone, adobe, brick masonry, terra cotta, stucco, plaster, architectural metals, and wood.

While attending the University of Pennsylvania, Ms. Jang completed her master’s thesis, which examined the performance of nanolime consolidant for historic lime plaster. She has also presented her thesis work at the APT conference and coauthored “Going Grey: Mitigating the Weathering of Wood in the Architecture of Louis Kahn.” Prior to joining WJE, Ms. Jang worked at the Architectural Conservation Laboratory of the University of Pennsylvania, where she managed a multiphased project involving the conservation of interior surface finishes at Mission San José de Tumacácori in Tumacácori National Historical Park in Arizona
