Brett W. Brunner-Caple

Associate II


Brett Brunner-Caple joined WJE in 2018, bringing with him five years of experience as a civil/structural engineer in the areas of structural analysis and assessment, steel and concrete design, and engineering and construction management.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Brunner-Caple served five years as a United States Air Force Civil Engineer Officer. In his last two years in the Air Force, he served as the F-35 Project Management Chief at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, overseeing design and construction projects for infrastructure needed to support a fleet of new F-35 aircrafts. Mr. Brunner-Caple also spent an additional year in Alaska planning and scoping renovation and modernization projects to maintain more than $8 billion of existing infrastructure on Eielson Air Force Base, and one summer in the Philippines serving as the construction team commander for a humanitarian mission to repair earthquake-damaged and aging schools.

  • Haven for Hope - San Antonio, TX: Structural investigation of damage and deterioration of a one hundred--year old concrete facility to determine necessary repairs to occupy the building
  • Bohol School Classroom - Bohol Island, Philippines: Evaluation of seismic damage to unreinforced masonry classroom*

  • Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium - San Antonio, TX: Nondestructive evaluation and vibration monitoring of concrete structure to determine causes of cracking in floor

  • Port of San Antonio Robot Warehouse - San Antonio, TX: Assessment and design of pre-engineered metal building foundation/slab and new roadway for aircraft paint-removing robot
  • Satellite Dish Support Structure - Eielson Air Force Base (AFB), AK: Design and construction of a new concrete structure to support a satellite dish against Alaska wind loads*


Steel Structures

  • F-35 Hangar/Squadron Operations/Aircraft Maintenance Unit Facility - Eielson AFB, AK: Design and construction project management for a new $38M facility, which includes a four-bay hangar, high security mission planning and operations space, and office/work space for an aircraft maintenance unit*
  • F-35 Propulsion Maintenance Hangar - Eielson AFB, AK: Design and construction project management for a new $40M facility, which includes a four-bay hangar and jet engine maintenance space*


Wood Structures

  • Aurora Club Ballroom - Eielson AFB, AK: Evaluation and repair design for damaged wooden floor joists supporting multipurpose and ballroom spaces in the Aurora Club Facility*
