This is the first of a two-part series on the restoration of the Franklin Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Part 1 focuses on the rehabilitation aspects and Part 2 will focus on the structural analysis and accelerated bridge construction methods used to replace the deck. We led the investigation and rehabilitation design and HNTB Corporation led the structural analysis and new deck design. We worked together with HNTB Corporation and Hennepin County on the project and on these articles.
