Andrea DelGiudice

Experience

Since joining WJE in 2006, Andrea DelGiudice has gained significant experience in the evaluation and development of repair drawings and details for a variety of architectural materials, components, and systems, including glazed aluminum curtain wall, storefront, and sloped glazing assemblies, as well as aluminum wood and vinyl windows, cast stone, natural stone, clay brick and concrete masonry, precast and cast-in-place concrete, and fluid- and sheet-applied waterproofing. Ms. DelGiudice has been actively engaged in field testing for air and water penetration resistance, both in a forensic capacity and in the context of new construction, using ASTM and AAMA voluntary guide specifications and test standards, as well as high- and low-voltage electronic leak detection methods for use at new and existing roofing and waterproofing membranes. She serves as the technical point of contact for ASTM Committee E06.55.09 - Exterior Enclosure Commissioning. Ms. DelGiudice is also currently working on a NIBS team to refine and implement an educational program for building enclosure commissioning provider certification.

In the area of new construction, Ms. DelGiudice has provided enclosure commissioning services, building enclosure focused construction period services, and peer review services. In addition to her work on recently constructed buildings and structures, Ms. DelGiudice has also developed drawings and details for a wide range of structures, including existing buildings of varying vintages, as well as historically significant structures.

  • George Washington University, New Science and Engineering Hall - Washington, D.C.: Peer review and on-site construction services for total enclosure, including terra cotta rain screen panels, unitized curtain wall with engineered transition assembly, multiple roof systems, a pyramidal skylight, functioning greenhouse, and interior planters containing fully grown trees
  • George Washington University, Square 77 - Washington, D.C.: Enclosure-focused design review for a new residence hall with live learning space adjoining two existing restored facades
  • YMCA and Multifamily Residential Housing Complex - Washington, D.C.: Peer review and building enclosure consulting services during construction mixed-use project with brick masonry, EIFS, window wall and punched opening facade, hot rubberized asphalt roof, and terrace assemblies

  • Harbour Square Historic Townhomes - Washington, D.C.: Facade restoration and window replacement design development at what are believed to be three of the oldest residences in the District of Columbia

  • National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, New Campus East - Fort Belvoir, VA: Primary point of contact for construction period for the two million-square-foot footprint main office building and multiple buildings on campus  
  • National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, New Campus West - St. Louis, VA: Enclosure commissioning lead (ongoing) for multibuilding campus project
