WJE Staff Receive 2017 PCI Journal Awards

 

WJE Executive Vice President and Senior Principal Gary Klein has been awarded the 2017 Martin P. Korn Award for coauthoring the March–April 2017 paper, “Dapped Ends of Prestressed Concrete Thin-Stemmed Members: Part 1, Experimental Testing and Behavior.” The Martin P. Korn Award, presented by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) Journal Awards Committee, recognizes the paper that offers the greatest contribution to the advancement of precast and prestressed concrete in the area of design and research.

Additionally, the 2017 George D. Nasser Award was granted to Associate Director Blake Andrews and Senior Associate Kurt Holloway for the article they coauthored with Gary Klein, “Dapped Ends of Prestressed Concrete Thin-Stemmed Members: Part 2, Design,” in the March–April 2017 issue. The George D. Nasser Award recognizes authors of forty years of age or younger who write outstanding papers on design, research, production, or construction.

Both of the awards were presented at the 2017 PCI Fall Committee Days and Membership Conference in Rosemont, Illinois, at the Member Luncheon on Friday, October 6.
