WJE Sponsors UConn Steel Bridge Club

WJE’s New Haven office recently made a monetary donation to the UConn Steel Bridge Club to support their participation in the upcoming National Student Steel Bridge Competition at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). The UConn Steel Bridge Club placed second in the American Society of Civil Engineers New England Regional Student Steel Bridge Competition on April 28, which involved building a bridge at a 1:10 scale that supported 2,500 pounds and could be broken down into three-foot-long sections and assembled at the event. The team will now travel to UIUC for the national competition on May 25-26.
