Sasaki Appointed to Third Term on California Building Standards Commission

Kent Sasaki, Principal and Unit Manager of WJE's San Francisco office, has been reappointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown to a third term on the California Building Standards Commission.

Mr. Sasaki, who has been with WJE for twenty-four years, has performed engineering investigations on hundreds of structures, including high-rise buildings, warehouses, apartments, houses, bridges, tunnels, aqueducts, seawalls, water tanks, power plants, historic structures, and monuments. He investigates damage from earthquakes, fire, ground movement, construction-related vibration, blast, and flooding. He earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and a master of engineering degree in structural engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

The California Building Standards Commission is an independent commission within the State and Consumer Services Agency whose role is to produce building standards and administrative regulations while ensuring that the statewide building code development and adoption process is efficient and effective.
