National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction

WJE urges all of our clients and colleagues to participate in OSHA’s 4th Annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. Falls from height provide one of the more serious hazards we face in performing our work. As has been the case for so many years, falls are the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry.

The stand-down takes place May 8–12, 2017. To participate, simply take some time during that week to refresh your memory and the memories of others about our industry’s fall hazards and effective fall prevention and protection measures. You can conduct a Safety Stand-Down by providing training, taking training yourself, or by simply performing any other fall protection safety activity such as conducting safety equipment inspections, developing rescue plans, and discussing job-specific hazards.

For additional information on the stand-down, see OSHA’s webpage dedicated to the event.
