Michael Aaron Joins WJE

WJE is pleased to announce that Michael Aaron has joined the firm's Fire Protection and Life Safety practice as an Associate Principal, bringing more than thirty years of project experience and professional training in fire protection engineering to WJE. He will be based in Chicago.

Mr. Aaron is a known expert in fire protection, design/build work, and construction management for all types of aircraft hangars. He is familiar with a wide range of fire protection challenges and is experienced in project management, code requirements and interpretation, construction inspection, field investigation, testing, and preparing reports, plans, and specifications. Mr. Aaron has been involved with National Fire Protection Association standards development committees and has extensive experience with water supplies, fire pumps, high-expansion and AFFF foam, sprinklers, and fire detection/alarm systems.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Aaron worked at Rolf Jensen & Associates (now Jensen Hughes), where he directed the firms’ Military Projects and Hangar Design Services. Mr. Aaron was also a Fire Protection Engineering Specialist and mechanical engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for more than five years.

Mr. Aaron holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In addition to the National Fire Protection Association, he is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and the Society of American Military Engineers.
