June 24, 2015
Four of WJE’s past projects were featured in the "Fifty Significant Structures in Fifty Years" list at the recent Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) awards dinner commemorating SEAOI’s 50th anniversary as well as the 100th year of structural engineering licensing in Illinois. WJE’s honored projects were the Amoco Building Facade Recladding, completed in 1993; the Baha’i House of Worship Concrete Restoration, completed in 1994; the Art Institute of Chicago Modern Wing, completed in 2009; and the Wacker Drive Reconstruction, completed in 2012.

In honor of the anniversaries, Governor Bruce Rauner issued a gubernatorial proclamation naming June 6, 2015, Structural Engineering Day in Illinois. WJE Senior Principal and former SEAOI President John Duntemann served as one of the emcees for the evening.
