Repair and rehabiltiation work continues on the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., following the 2011 Virginia earthquake that damaged many structures in the area. In an article for ASCE's Civil Engineering
magazine, WJE Principal Matthew Farmer
discusses the unique scaffolding platform erected to span the interior of the Gothic-style cathedral. Remaining operational with weekly worship services and state functions throughout the repair process, the Cathedral's scaffolding posed interesting challenges.
