In this webinar, presented by Don Meinheit, design provisions for adhesive anchors are discussed and considered. Design provisions were, for the first time, included in ACI 318-11 Appendix D edition of the code. The behavior of this anchor type is different than cast-in or mechanical expansion anchors, and therefore, the design provisions in tension are also considerably different than those for cast-in or expansion anchors. All adhesive anchors that are designed by the ACI 318-11 Appendix D provisions must be qualified by rigorous testing protocols to verify their conformance to the assumptions in the design provisions.
