Sean J. Killarney

Associate II

Since joining WJE in early 2019, Sean Killarney has contributed to building enclosure condition assessments, on-site testing, repair design, design reviews, hygrothermal modeling with THERM and WUFI® software programs, and Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx). He has experience evaluating and drafting repair documents for brick, terra cotta, stone, and glass facades. Mr. Killarney has helped restore historic buildings, worked with building owners to solve ongoing building science issues, and consulted on design and construction phase work for new construction.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Killarney began his building enclosure career at db|HMS in Chicago, Illinois, as part of their BECx group. There, he assisted in the production of owner project requirement documentation, participated in design reviews, and performed construction phase observations. As a graduate student at the Illinois Institute of Technology, he studied both enclosures and building systems, conducted an in-depth facade assessment, performed whole-building energy modeling, and gained experience with enclosure-focused modeling software such as THERM and WUFI®.
