Experience

Maggie Smith has performed investigations, condition assessments, repair design, and construction observation services for a variety of facade systems, including brick masonry cavity walls and mass walls, limestone, granite, and marble panel veneers, and architectural terra cotta on both contemporary and historically significant buildings and structures. Ms. Smith has experience in masonry and preservation including research into nonlinear surface waves to nondestructively evaluate microstructural changes in stone as well as analysis of retrofit anchors for the marble units of the Propylaea on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.
