Christopher D. Lipp

Experience

Christopher Lipp has performed numerous construction observations, building envelope assessments, and structural investigations and has prepared construction documents based on those investigations. His building analyses include steel frame structures as well as cast-in-place and precast concrete structures. Mr. Lipp is also experienced in the evaluation of distressed facade elements, including precast concrete, brick masonry, concrete masonry, and flashing systems on both historic and new construction. He has also worked with hydrophobic resin injection in concrete structures for waterproofing purposes. Mr. Lipp’s projects also involve glass and glazing design, detailing, and evaluation.

Mr. Lipp has authored several articles promoting sustainability. He has participated in the technical group Product Category Rules (PCR) in the development of product standards relating to sustainability for the window industry. Prior to rejoining WJE, Mr. Lipp spent several years as a curtain wall, storefront, and sunshade designer for a leading fenestration manufacturer, where he designed, developed, and tested new fenestration products.

  • Hurricane Katrina Inspections - Bay St. Louis, MS: Evaluation of hurricane damage to parking structures and commercial and residential buildings

 

Structural Investigation

  • Lowe’s Motor Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway - Concord, NC, and Atlanta, GA: Investigation of welded connections in fourteen-foot-tall and twelve-foot-tall scoring towers, respectively using nondestructive testing
