Benton S. Cook

Associate Principal


Ben Cook started his career in structural engineering in 1996 and has acquired broad based experience with steel, concrete, timber, masonry, aluminum, and stainless steel structures. Mr. Cook’s diverse background includes new structural design, investigation of collapsed structures and other failures, and repair and rehabilitation of aging and distressed structures.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Cook was an engineering team manager with the structural engineering firm Swenson Say Faget in Seattle, Washington, and he was an associate with the structural engineering firm J.R. Harris & Company in Denver, Colorado.

  • YMCA of the Rockies Conference Center - Estes Park, CO: Design of extensive structural repairs for 35,000-square-foot steel- and timber-framed conference center
  • Annie Mitchell Housing Roof - Aspen, CO: Design of retrofit snow fence system and its support by existing wood-framed trusses
