Steven R. Bruns

Experience

Steven Bruns rejoined WJE in 2016 and has more than thirty years of experience in the evaluation and assessment of buildings, structures, and materials in the as-built environment. Mr. Bruns has provided project management and technical leadership for investigations and repair of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures. He has significant expertise in property condition assessments and due diligence surveys for capital planning purposes and real estate transactions. Mr. Bruns also has in-depth experience relating to national disaster response and is a Structural Specialist for Indiana Task Force 1, one of FEMA’s twenty-eight nationwide urban search and rescue teams.

Mr. Bruns started his career with WJE as an intern at the Northbrook headquarters before working full time in WJE’s Princeton and Dallas offices. Prior to rejoining WJE, he spent twenty years working within the Indiana market and was responsible for starting and developing an investigative engineering group for one of the largest A/E firms in Indiana. During his tenure, this group grew to more than fifteen architects and engineers located in five states.
