Patrick Shaughnessy

Experience

Patrick Shaughnessy has more than twenty years of experience in the roofing and waterproofing industry. He has worked as a contractor’s representative and a roofing and waterproofing consultant. As a consultant, Mr. Shaughnessy has been involved in hundreds of roof assessments, utilizing the most current nondestructive technologies, such as nuclear moisture testing and infrared imaging. He has investigated water leakage, material compatibility, durability, and condensation issues on numerous projects, including the development of short- and long-term repair recommendations. These projects have often included repair and replacement design and budget estimates. Mr. Shaughnessy has experience with all major low-slope and steep-slope roofing systems, including built-up roofing, modified bitumen roofing, single-ply roof systems, slate, tile, asphalt shingle, and sheet metal roof panels.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Shaughnessy was a senior project manager at a building envelope consulting firm and a project manager at a firm specializing in roofing and waterproofing consulting. He has extensive experience in the preparation of roofing and waterproofing repair and replacement documents. He has also provided project management services on numerous roofing projects, from the initial assessment stage through project closeout, including all contractual administration requirements. In addition, Mr. Shaughnessy has performed design reviews for new construction projects to verify that current codes were followed and that the designs complied with manufacturer and owner requirements.
