Structural Modifications for Lobby Remodel

STRUCTURE
This high-rise office building was constructed in 1988. Its structural framing system consists of steel beams, columns, and diagonal seismic bracing.

  SOLUTION
WJE designed simple changes to the first story bracing system to enable implementation of the owner's renovation plan while maintaining the required level of seismic resistance. Structural modifications to accommodate other architectural changes were also provided.
