WJE Wins Award of Excellence for St. Charles Municipal Center

November 21, 2011
The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) has awarded WJE an Award of Excellence in the Historic Category for its work on the St. Charles Municipal Center, located along the shore of the Fox River in St. Charles, Illinois. A plaza abuts three sides of the building and a 12-foot-tall limestone-clad river wall defines the plaza's west wall. The project consisted of an investigation of deterioration, a laboratory study of concrete core samples, and the reconstruction of the original design of the plaza and river wall. WJE served as the project engineer/designer.
