WJE Receives 2009 Project of the Year Award Presented by Masonry Construction Magazine at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry Convention

WJE was presented with Masonry Construction's Project of the Year award in the repair and rehabilitation category for services performed on the Blackstone Hotel located in Chicago, Illinois. Masonry Construction magazine's Project of the Year exemplifies mason contractors' contributions, including helping architects and engineers create the best masonry has to offer, exceptional problem solving and teamwork, painstaking restoration and repair work, and environmentally friendly construction. The awards include one overall Project of the Year and winners in eleven categories. WJE was honored with the award at the World of Concrete/World of Masonry Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada February 3, 2010.

The Blackstone Hotel is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has won additional awards including: Chicago Landmark Award for Preservation Excellence from the Commission on Chicago Landmarks, Excellence in Masonry (gold award) from the Illinois Indiana Masonry Council, Design Award (silver medal) from the Association of Licensed Architects, and Project of the Year from Midwest Construction.
