WJE Opens Pittsburgh Annex Office
Mr. Elgin brings over fourteen years of experience in structural design, evaluation, repair, and renovation of K-12 schools, universities, hospitals, banks, and commercial properties. Past projects include development of construction documents, project management, field evaluations, and construction observations. Mr. Elgin has experience with various construction materials, including masonry (terra cotta, stone, brick, and concrete masonry units), concrete (reinforced, precast, and post-tensioned), structural steel, wood, fiberglass, glass-fiber reinforced concrete, traffic-bearing membranes, waterproofing, and sealants.
Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Elgin held multiple positions at Barber & Hoffman, Inc. in both Cleveland, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In his most recent position as associate within the Pittsburgh office, he was responsible for the majority of the firm's repair and restoration work in the Pittsburgh area.
Mr. Elgin is the secretary of the Pittsburgh chapter of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) and is also a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Ohio. He holds a bachelor of architectural engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and is a licensed engineer in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
