Krogstad Honored with ASTM International Award of Merit
Mr. Krogstad has been an active member of ASTM International since 1986 and has made significant contributions to the development of standard test methods related to the use of manufactured masonry units of fired clay and shale, concrete and sand-line units within Committee C15 - Manufacturing Masonry Units. He has been involved with several C15 task groups and currently chairs C15.05.07 on Masonry Construction Tolerance. He is also active on Committees C12 - Mortars and Grouts for Unit Masonry and E06 - Performance of Buildings.
Since joining WJE in 1983, Mr. Krogstad has investigated distress conditions in several hundred existing buildings and has provided consulting services on numerous cladding systems. He has expertise in the evaluation and resolution of water infiltration, corrosion, cracking, anchorage, and durability problems in exterior wall systems, with a concentration on masonry and curtain wall systems. He also specializes in the investigation of moisture and condensation problems. Mr. Krogstad holds a bachelor of science in architectural studies and a master of architecture, structures option, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
