David S. Patterson

Experience

David Patterson is an architect specializing in the investigation and repair of building envelopes. Since joining WJE, he has been involved in more than one thousand assignments involving curtain walls, windows, brick, stone, terra cotta, concrete, and roofing and waterproofing systems. Mr. Patterson has directed numerous envelope-related failure investigations, facade repair and recladding projects, and roofing repair and replacement projects. He has also performed peer reviews of design and construction documents for noted architectural and construction firms and building owners. He also consults regularly on the preservation of historic buildings and structures. Mr. Patterson is widely published on the subject of building envelope failures and other related topics and has co-authored a chapter on building envelope in the Forensic Structural Engineering Handbook.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Patterson was partner with the design firm of Cooke Douglass Farr, Ltd., where his architectural design work received recognition from state and international organizations.
